EDENBRIDGE SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY TREATMENT ORDER PROGRAM
Supportive Community Treatment Order Program (CTO)
A Community Treatment Order (CTO), under the Mental Health Act, is a tool intended to assist someone in complying with psychiatric treatment while living in the community. A CTO is a treatment and care plan that outlines care specific to needs, and may include, but is not limited to: medication compliance, support to attend appointments, as well as assistance with independent Life Skills. There are Albertans all across the province on CTO’s.
The Supportive Community Treatment Order Program is a pilot program for Edenbridge Family Services and Alberta Health Services – Addiction and Mental Health that started in 2011. The Supportive CTO Program is for individuals in Alberta Health Services Southwest Zone who are meet AHS eligibility criteria and may require additional mental health supports.
